Master of Marriage and Family Therapy Overview

Campbellsville University’s Master of Marriage and Family Therapy program features highly flexible courses designed and taught by licensed therapists who are committed to your success. This affordable master’s program prepares you for your career through 19 total courses and a 300-hour hands-on practicum experience. In just three years, you can graduate with your MMFT and pursue certification to become a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT).

CU also offers free continuing education for alums, making it simple and affordable to maintain your license and stay up-to-date on emerging research and strategies for marriage and family therapy.

The MMFT degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), and Campbellsville University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).


Course Map

The online MMFT degree includes 19 courses for a total of 60 credit hours. This master’s program also requires students to complete a practicum experience working directly with patients.


Admissions Requirements

To apply to the Campbellsville University online Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree program, prospective students must submit or complete the following:

  1. Online application
  2. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  3. Official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities attended demonstrating a combined GPA of 3.0 on all college-level coursework (Students with a GPA below a 3.0 may be considered conditionally.)
  4. Three (3) reference letters
  5. A 500-700 word personal statement
