This affordable master’s program prepares you for your career through 19 total courses and a 300-hour hands-on practicum experience. In just three years, you can graduate with your MMFT and pursue certification to become a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT).
CU also offers free continuing education for alums, making it simple and affordable to maintain your license and stay up-to-date on emerging research and strategies for marriage and family therapy.

- This course is a continuation of the MMFT practicum experience. In the event the student completes 10 credit hours of MFT 690, but has not completed the required client contact hours, the student will remain in Graduate Candidacy as a practicum student under all the practicum requirements in the MMFT program until their hour requirements are met.
Admissions Requirements
To apply to the Campbellsville University online Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree program, prospective students must submit or complete the following:
- Online application
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities attended demonstrating a combined GPA of 3.0 on all college-level coursework (Students with a GPA below a 3.0 may be considered conditionally.)
- Three (3) reference letters
- A 500-700 word personal statement
Costs & Financial Aid
The Master of Marriage and Family Therapy online program costs $445 per credit hour. In order to help students afford their education, Campbellsville University’s staff is available to work with students to discover available financial aid options.
Students can fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to find out what scholarships, grants, loans and payment plans are available for them. There are numerous options available, and not all financial aid is based on need.
A maximum of 12 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university can be transferred into this program.

After graduating with your master's degree and earning certification, you may work as a licensed marriage and family therapist in a range of environments, including family service organizations, outpatient care centers, government offices and more.
