Online Master in Counseling

The Carver School of Social Work and Counseling at Campbellsville University offers a blended Master of Science in Counseling (MSC) as a result of the increased need for qualified counseling professionals in Kentucky and other states in the region.

Students can enroll in one or more of the following tracks:

  • Generalist (36 credit hours)
  • Marriage & Family (42 credit hours)
  • Clinical (60 credit hours)

The MSC degree is a blended program, designed to prepare career-oriented graduates to perform at their best in professions dedicated to counseling individuals, families and groups in a variety of occupational venues. The basic academic curriculum provides the necessary foundation for obtaining a generalist counseling degree. In addition,  advanced curricula in Marriage and Family or Clinical Counseling prepares  future counselors interested in  seeking  licensure in Kentucky and many other states.

Delivery Method
The courses are structured in a trimester schedule, using a combined evening and online format to accommodate students working full-time.

One-third of the M.S.C. core curriculum is taught online in a web-assisted format. The remaining core and respective track content are conveyed in evening and online formats. Content is presented by a team of doctoral faculty (not graduate assistants or student interns) from four interrelated and complimentary disciplines. The disciplines participating in the development and dissemination of this content include: Christian Studies, Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work.

Courses are taught by Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, and Christian Studies faculty, who are academically and experientially qualified to teach the counseling curricula.
