Program Information

Follow your calling and develop as a servant leader with our Master of Theology program. This fully online program can help lead you on the path to a career rooted in faith. Although many students use this degree as a path to ministry, this degree also offers opportunities to enter the fields of religious research, teaching, policymaking, social care and even counseling. Explore biblical studies, theological studies and pastoral leadership from dedicated instructors, in a supportive environment designed to help you succeed. All courses are designed and taught by our gifted theology faculty members, who complement Christian teachings with their real-world experiences.

Because our program is fully online, you can study in a flexible and convenient format. Course Offerings

This program includes 30 credit hours of study. Students study either eighteen hours in the biblical studies, pastoral leadership or theological studies core emphasis. Students then complete the final 12 hours by taking six hours in each of the two remaining areas of study. Although the completion time will vary, the program can be completed in as little as two years. All courses listed below are three credit hours each.

How to Apply

The Campbellsville University admissions process is simple and straightforward. Follow these steps to begin your journey:

  1. An online application for admission.
  2. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  3. Eighteen undergraduate hours in Christian studies OR a master’s degree OR applicable graduate courses.
  4. If undergraduate overall GPA is below 3.0, either GRE (Graduate Record Exam) OR MAT (Miller Analogy Test).
  5. Philosophy of ministry essay (two to three pages).
  6. Two reference letters (one from an academician and one from a ministry mentor).
  7. Interview with the dean of the school of theology.
